Privacy Policy — Starrest
Effective date: 2026-10-19 · Last updated: 2026-10-19
In short: Starrest collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no servers, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
1. Information we collect
None. Starrest does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data.
- No account or sign-in of any kind.
- No analytics, crash reporting or telemetry.
- No advertising identifiers and no ad networks.
- No access to contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera.
2. Data stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, and only locally:
- The apps and categories you chose to limit.
- Focus session history and accumulated focus minutes.
- Your daily limit and reminder settings.
- Items you saved in the Later list.
- Your companion selection and unlock progress.
A copy of the app-selection data is kept in an App Group container
(group.com.yubai.focus) so that the app and its own DeviceActivity monitor extension
can share it. This container is private to the app and its extension; it is not readable by
other apps and is never uploaded anywhere.
3. Screen Time and Family Controls
Starrest uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks to apply and lift app shields.
- Authorization is requested with
.individualonly. Starrest helps you limit your own device use. It has no parent, guardian or child features and never monitors another person. - Starrest does not use
DeviceActivityReportand never reads detailed per-app usage history. It only reacts to the thresholds you configure. - When a session ends or you change your limits, the app removes the corresponding shields.
4. Network access
Starrest does not make network requests. It works fully offline.
5. Children
Starrest is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
6. Third parties
There are none. The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising libraries and no analytics providers.
7. Your choices
- Revoke Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
- Delete all app data by deleting the app from your device.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
