Privacy Policy — Historical Figure
Effective date: 2026-10-06
Last updated: 2026-10-06
无游 ("we", "us") is the developer and publisher of the iOS app Historical Figure (the "App"). We take your privacy seriously.
Please read this policy before using the App. By using the App you agree to this policy.
In short: the App collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. Your answers and results stay on your device. The only network access is Apple's own payment system, and only if you choose to make a purchase.
1. Information we collect
We collect no personal information at all.
- No account or registration is required.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or any government identifier.
- We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, advertising ID), your IP address, or your list of installed apps.
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not collect or transmit your quiz answers, your results, or which historical figures you matched.
- We do not use cookies or any similar tracking technology.
- We do not use crash-reporting or usage-analytics services.
2. Information stored on your device
The App remembers your preferences and your progress, so that closing it does not mean starting over. The following is stored only on your device, never on a server of ours:
- your language choice and which question set and figure pool you last selected
- which historical figures you have unlocked in the gallery
- how many test runs you have completed (used to apply the free allowance)
- a local flag recording whether the optional one-time unlock is active
- a short-lived flag recording whether you have already been asked to rate the App
Cached result images are written to the App's own temporary folder so that sharing is instant; iOS removes them on its own schedule, and deleting the App removes them immediately.
Two on-device storage mechanisms are used: the operating system's standard preference store for the settings above, and the App's private temporary directory for the cached images.
None of this is personal information, none of it leaves your device, and we cannot read any of it. Deleting the App deletes all of it.
3. Network access
The App uses the network for exactly one purpose: the optional in-app purchase.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. When you buy the one-time unlock, the transaction is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Payment details, your name, and your Apple ID are handled by Apple — they are never sent to us, and we never see them. All we receive from Apple is a single yes-or-no signal telling the App whether the purchase is active, so that it knows to unlock.
Apart from that, the App sends nothing anywhere. It does not contact a server of ours, because we do not operate one. There is no telemetry, no sync, and no backup to us. The App works fully in airplane mode; only the purchase screen needs a connection.
4. Permissions
The App requests one optional permission: Photos, and only in its "add-only" form.
If you tap to save your result image, iOS asks whether the App may add a photo to your library. Choosing "Allow" lets the App write that one image. Add-only access means the App cannot see, read, browse, or modify anything already in your photo library.
The App does not request access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, motion, notifications, or tracking.
5. Third-party services and SDKs
The App integrates no third-party SDKs. There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no social or login SDK, and no device-fingerprinting code.
The only third-party component is Apple's own StoreKit framework, used for the in-app purchase described in section 3.
6. Data sharing, transfer and disclosure
We do not share, transfer, sell, rent, or publicly disclose personal information, because we do not collect any.
We have no server that stores user data, so there is nothing that could be handed over in response to a request — from a government, a law-enforcement agency, or anyone else.
Purchase records are held by Apple, not by us. Requests about those records should be directed to Apple.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain nothing on our side. Everything the App creates lives on your device and is removed when you delete the App.
You can also erase individual items without uninstalling: choose a different question set or figure pool to replace the stored selection, or reset the App's data through iOS Settings.
8. Children's privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Because no personal information is collected, no verifiable parental consent is required, and we hold no child's data.
9. Your privacy rights
Regulations such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to its processing.
Because the App collects no personal data and we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, export, or erase on your behalf. Questions about a purchase record should go to Apple, which holds it. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us using the details in section 11 and we will respond.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent.
If a future version of the App ever collects or transmits anything new, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the App Store privacy label will be updated to match.
11. Contact us
If you have any question, concern, or complaint about this policy or about privacy in the App, please contact us:
- Email: hxs-20@163.com
- We will respond within 15 business days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
